Tittabawassee Walleye Report
River Report 3-16-09

The river is now closed and the lastcouple days of the season saw high dirty waters and only a few fish being caught out of the Saginaw River. Look for some good action once the river re-opens the last Saturday in April.

Jig heads tipped with minnows or gulp scented plastics has worked well. Anchoring and drift fishing has been most productive during low light periods. Slip bobber rigs are deadly when fished down and across during low current times. The dam really effects where the gators want to hold so look for fish to stage in different areas between the morning and afternoon as the water comes up. Casting crank baits to the bank and deeper middle of the river is also a good bet.

Thanks,
Todd

This is a picture of a typical day out on Saginaw Bay this winter. We are already catching these guys in 5-8' of water and there seems to be no shortage of this age class of fish.
